In this seminar, students work in groups on practically relevant topics in the area of Numerical and Scientific Computing, mathematical software and applications. The topics include: * linear and nonlinear equations * ordinary differential equations * partial differential equations * eigenvalues and singular values * Fourier analysis * reliable computing The literature list is given on 25.10.10 (Vorbesprechung) Papers and material is in English. Speakers may freely decide whether they give their presentation in English or German. (This compact seminar will be held within 3 or 4 days after winter term; more details at preliminary discussion.)
