Kommentar/Beschreibung

The group project: TUHH goes Circular addresses environmental challenges and studies non-technical aspects that support circular economy and environmental initiatives. Topics are to be chosen matching the general scope of environmental challenges, i.e. the challenges of rising resource consumption and waste production. In the WiSe 21/22, master students explore the concept of a climate neutral university. Students will research how the design and/or use of the campus contributes to resource consumption. Students will develop an understanding of human-centred-design (HCD), and explore how their respective engineering disciplines can contribute to sustainability. In addition, students will be introduced to the importance of high-quality science communication for ecologically and socially sustainable development. In a practical group task, students will gain experience in the research, design and execution of a sustainability plan. Competences • The students develop an understanding of human-centred-design (HCD) and explore the role of engineering in creating positive change. The students learn to conceptualize research and create a sustainability plan • The students learn to collect stakeholder feedback for improvements • The students organise autonomously as groups and work together in a targeted manner • The students present their findings in a verbally and visually understandable and precise way • The students reflect their own campus behaviour and relate their own role as energy and resource consumers.
